Katie Segien is a Vice President at Hercules Capital focusing on business development and investments in emerging growth-stage life science and healthcare companies. Since joining Hercules in 2008, Katie has worked across a broad range of life science and healthcare companies at various stages of growth.

Before joining Hercules, Katie held roles at Boston Children’s Hospital in their Innovation Accelerator, Credit Suisse, and Boston Scientific. Katie was a Flare Scholar at Flare Capital in 2018 and remains on their seed fund, Flare Scholar Ventures, providing pre-seed capital to healthcare-focused companies.

Katie received her MBA from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at UNC-Chapel Hill and her BS in Finance at Northeastern University.
